The International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) is an international non-profit organization that undertakes scientific research for development. The ICRISAT global headquarters is located in Patancheru near Hyderabad, Telangana, India. The research station offers an insight into the integration of agricultural sciences and research-for- development activities across the whole value chain – high end science using germplasm from the genebank, genomics laboratory, phenotyping and genetic engineering facilities, through to the agribusiness center, watershed management and crop production field experiments.
ICAR - Indian Agricultural Research Institute
The name of IARI was changed to Imperial Institute of Agricultural Research in 1911 and, in 1919 it was renamed as Imperial Agricultural Research Institute. Following a devastating earth quake on 15th January 1934, the institute was shifted to Delhi on 29th July 1936. Post independence, the institute has been renamed as Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI). Currently, the Institute has 20 divisions 5 multi-disciplinary Centers situated in Delhi, 8 regional stations, 2 off-season nurseries, 3 All India coordinated research projects with headquarters at IARI and 10 national Centers functioning under the all India coordinated research projects. It has the sanctioned staff strength of 3540 comprising scientific, technical, administrative and supporting personnel.
ICAR- Indian Institute of Rice Research, Hyderabad
Indian Institute of Rice Research, formerly All India coordinated Rice Improvement Project (AICRIP), was established by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) in 1965 with its national headquarters at Hyderabad to organize and coordinate multi-location testing of genetic lines and technologies for crop production and protection generated across the country. The Project was elevated to Directorate of Rice Research in 1975 with an added mandate of research in the thrust areas of irrigated rice.

The PAU has been responsible for large-scale reclamation of saline and sodic soils (6 lakh ha) in the state, thereby rendering these fit for crop production.Providing quality seed to the farmers for higher production has been an important component of PAU producing about 69,000 quintals of improved seed during 2015-16, apart from producing 3.18 lakh seedlings of fruit plants and 1.65 lakh seedlings of forest trees.
