Objectives of the Project

Objective-I

To Identify and Prioritize the risk areas for pest/diseases and map the spatial and temporal changes in distribution in the face of climate change

Objective- II

To develop adaptation strategies to the pests and diseases under the climate change as an integral part of agriculture production and food security

Objective-III

To enhance capacity of various stakeholders on suitable plant protection and adaptation strategies for climate resilient agriculture

What are our goals

Development of Web forecasting system

Forewarning systems, which can provide advance information for outbreak of the pest.

Direct data upload into the database

Authorized users can upload the data into the database directly with a single click. Its an easy option to deal with the data.

Advisories for crop management

Advisories can be linked with this forewarning systems for better adoptions of ICT based technologies.

What Experts says about the crop-pest scenario

What's Next??

End of project deliverable

The outcomes of this project will have a major bearing on pest and disease adaptation strategies for climate resilient agriculture. Some of the significant outputs from this program which will contribute to National Mission on Strategic Knowledge to Climate Change are as follows:

  • Enhanced adaptation tools and strategies to address the implications of climate change on pests and disease
  • Enhanced weather and pest/disease information based on improved understanding of information needs at different spatial and temporal levels
  • Decision support systems to predict and manage the outbreak of pests and diseases available
  • Increased capacity within NARS and other partners on suitable plant protection and adaptation strategies for climate resilient agriculture
  • Enhanced capacity to respond to the impacts of climate change on agriculture-pests/diseases by policy makers and decision makers
